It is the policy of Saint Luke's National School to give homework as it reinforces learning and encourages the development of study skills. Homework will normally be given on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays but work will not usually be given for weekends.
Infants to First Class:Children will usually be given one written assignment per night and a passage in English reading.
Second to Sixth Class: Children will generally have two or more pieces of written homework in addition to tables, spellings, reading etc.
No pupil should spend more than one hour at the homework and for the junior classes the time period should be considerably less.
Parents/Guardians are asked to sign the homework each night.
If, for some reason, homework cannot be done or completed - a note from the parent/guardian will be much appreciated
