New Junior Infants 2019

16th May 2019

Junior Infants 2019 – 2020

Dear Parents / Guardians,

I would like to take the opportunity to thank you for attending the introductory meeting for Junior Infants at St Luke’s National School. There was a wonderful air of excitement on the day.

On Thursday 13th June a short gathering will be held in the school from 2.00p.m – 2.30p.m. This gathering provides the opportunity for the children and the parents to familiarise themselves with the school, the classroom and the environment. Attendance at this meeting will assist your child in preparation for their first day at school. The school uniform will be on display in the office that day too.

I would request that payment for books etc be completed by Thursday 13th June 2019 - allowing the school to purchase the necessary books and requisites before school starts for the new academic year 2019 – 2020.

I look forward to seeing you and your child on Thursday 13th June at 2.00p.m.

Yours sincerely

Vivienne Bourke

Principal St. Luke’s NS

Two parent reps needed for Grow in Love Training
(488) Tuesday, March 26, 2019

Dear Parents,

Thank you for your work and for your co-operation in supporting the RE Curriculum and the Grow in Love programme.

We are seeking your co-operation once again. We would like to invite two parents/guardians from our school, St. Luke's NS, to join in an in-service session in the RE Curriculum and the Grow in Love programme.

The role of parents as the primary educators of their children is vital.  The Diocesan Advisers will explore this role at the in-service with the parents in the teaching of Religious Education.

This in-service will take place in the Holy Cross Diocesan Centre, Clonliffe Road, Dublin 3, on Monday, 8th April 2019 from 12.30-2.30pm.

If you feel you may be free to attend this in-service meeting and represent our school - please leave your name with Kate before March 30th 2019. We will contact you then to make further arrangements.

Many thanks for your help with this matter.

Social media nasty
(482) Monday, February 25, 2019

Dear Parents,

Please read link below to be aware of a social media nasty.

Parents are being urged to supervise their children’s online activity due a cyberbullying game called the "Momo challenge".

Gardaí say that the challenge is appearing on social media platforms and targets children and/or vulnerable people.

It is understood that "Momo" makes contact through social media, and allegedly asks the person to perform dangerous tasks, including self-harm.

Please be advised that the image on the report is not pleasant but we need to keep informed
