Confirmation |
(234) Tuesday, January 27, 2015 |
Scoil Naomh Lucáis Dear Parents, Confirmation is the highlight of the Catholic school year. Your child, whom you brought into the Catholic Faith through Baptism, now will join the Catholic Faith in their own right as full Christians. As you have borne witness to the Faith on your child’s behalf they now will bear witness themselves. On your child’s behalf you have prepared them for this sacrament. The children are putting a lot of effort into their preparation and your support during the preparation is vital to indicate to them the value you place on the sacrament. We look forward to these upcoming events as follows: Date | Event | Tuesday 3rd March @ 10.30a.m. | Sacrament of Reconciliation in the Church | Saturday 21st March @ 6.30p.m. | Preparation Mass in the Church | Wednesday 15th April – all day | Retreat in Emmaus Centre | Saturday 18th April @ 6.30p.m. | Preparation Mass in the Church | Saturday 25th April @11.00a.m. | Sacrament of Confirmation | A new initiative regarding the preparation of the children for the sacrament is the House Visitation. Fr Seamus has instigated this wonderful initiative. The Parish Council will commence a series of visitations to houses regarding the Confirmation Programme – dates to be announced In the interim I would encourage you to bring your child to the church to attend Mass regularly to acquaint your child with the faith community in preparation for reception of the sacrament. Mass is celebrated in St Luke the Evangelist Church and St Luke’s National School every Sunday. Is Mise Le Meas, ___________________ Mairtín Ó Caomhánaigh Príomhoide |

It is inspirational to see the children participate so wholeheartedly and perform wonderfully on the concert nights. Your attendance on the night encourages and motivates the children. A special word of thanks to all the teachers who have prepared the children. However, it is your day to day support of the teaching staff, that ensures a strong partnership in education and assists in providing the children with a meaningful and worthwhile long term educational experience. I am grateful to the Parents’ Association who have dedicated themselves to the school in so many ways throughout the first term. The Halloween and Christmas celebrations were a great success. Flood update |
(220) Friday, November 14, 2014 |
Dear Parents, Many thanks to all the parents & guardians who helped yesterday during difficult weather conditions. We sent advisory texts before hometime to parents in First & Second Classes which were successfully received. However, the messages sent to Third to Sixth classes were not received , for some technical reason. The school is open as per usual. Last night, a Fingal County Council digger removed debris from a storm drain near the school. This appears to have been the cause of the flooding. There is no flooding at the Belgree gate this morning. Again, the council removed debris from a drain to relieve the situation. |

Belgree Gate Pool of Water |
(217) Wednesday, November 12, 2014 |
Please be advised of a large pool of water at the Belgree Gate entrance to the Park near the school. With recent heavy rain, the children can get their feet wet on the way to school. We contacted Fingal County Council who attempted to remedy the situation , alas , to no avail. Please consider an alternative route for your child until the issue is resolved. Please advise the children to steer clear of any gullies of water near the school as they can become quite full during periods of heavy rain. |
