Flood update |
(220) Friday, November 14, 2014 |
Dear Parents, Many thanks to all the parents & guardians who helped yesterday during difficult weather conditions. We sent advisory texts before hometime to parents in First & Second Classes which were successfully received. However, the messages sent to Third to Sixth classes were not received , for some technical reason. The school is open as per usual. Last night, a Fingal County Council digger removed debris from a storm drain near the school. This appears to have been the cause of the flooding. There is no flooding at the Belgree gate this morning. Again, the council removed debris from a drain to relieve the situation. |

Belgree Gate Pool of Water |
(217) Wednesday, November 12, 2014 |
Please be advised of a large pool of water at the Belgree Gate entrance to the Park near the school. With recent heavy rain, the children can get their feet wet on the way to school. We contacted Fingal County Council who attempted to remedy the situation , alas , to no avail. Please consider an alternative route for your child until the issue is resolved. Please advise the children to steer clear of any gullies of water near the school as they can become quite full during periods of heavy rain. |

Hand Washing |
(205) Wednesday, October 15, 2014 |
Scoil Naomh Lucáis 14th October 2014 Dear Parents, A circular issued from the Health Service Executive stressed the importance of hand washing to prevent the spread of germs in schools. The teachers have encouraged the children to follow the “SUDS” hand washing brochure, which is displayed in each classroom, in order to implement the hand hygiene programme. Additionally, from Wednesday 16th, I request that each child brings to school their own hand towel or face cloth to enhance the hand washing programme. Children will keep their own hand towel or face cloth in their bag, preferably in a plastic zip lock bag for hygienic reasons. The hand towel needs to be changed regularly. For hygienic reasons the hand towel need to be used solely by one child and not shared with any other child in the class. Please discuss general hygiene matters with your child at home e.g. handwashing, using the toilet, coughing , sneezing, using a handkerchief etc Thank you for helping to keep us all healthy.
