Welcome to St. Luke’s National School!
St. Luke’s NS is a co-educational, mainstream Catholic primary school established in 1927 in the village of Mulhuddart. Today, we are proud to be part of the vibrant, intercultural community of Tyrrelstown. Our school operates under the patronage of the Archbishop of Dublin.
Our dedicated team is led by Principal Vivienne Bourke and Acting Deputy Principal Deirdre McGuane. We have a staff of 55, including 24 mainstream teachers, 16 SET teachers, 10 Additional Needs Assistants (ANAs), and a support team comprising secretaries, a caretaker, and cleaners. Izabela and Jackie are our friendly school secretaries, and Roman is our hardworking caretaker.
Most importantly, St. Luke’s NS is home to over 550 wonderful children and a supportive network of parents who make up our thriving school community. Together, we strive to create a welcoming and inclusive environment where every child can flourish.

Well done to Conor and Yazan, 2nd class, for being part of the team that won the Killinarden Cup 2025 at the weekend. We were delighted that they visited all the classes to show their cup and medals to us. We are proud of you both, well done boys!
Meet the Additional Needs Assistant Team at St. Luke’s National School!
St. Luke’s has a strong team of ten ANA’s. Our dedicated team are a constant support to children in our school community. They are a friendly and approachable team, who greet all of the children with a smile as they arrive at school each morning.

This event promises a delightful morning of Irish music, song, dance, and celebration of Irish culture. Our talented children will be showcasing their skills, filling the hall with the spirit of our rich heritage.
Dear parents,
Some of the children enjoyed free taster hip hop dance sessions today with Jordan from Fit Kids Dance school while others will have their session next Monday. They will be starting after school lessons in the community centre after the Easter holidays.
