Active School Flag

Fantastic News! After all our amazing work over the last couple of years and our accreditation visit on May 24th 2023 St. Luke’s N.S has been successful in obtaining our first ever Active Schools Flag.

So much work has been done by our Active Schools committee and all of our classes and teachers and we are so proud of our new flag. But most of all we thoroughly enjoyed all the fun activities and experiences along the journey to our flag.

We are now officially an Active School and are looking forward to lots more fun and activity to come.

Active School Flag (ASF) is a Department of Education and Skills initiative supported by Healthy Ireland, and part of the National Physical Activity Plan.

The ASF initiative provides schools with a framework to guide, support and incentivises them to work towards achieving a physically educated and physically active school community.

Once awarded, ASF remains valid for a period of 3 years, after which time schools are invited to re-engage with the process.
